July 8th – 17th, 2016
The Calgary Stampede is our busiest ten days of the year, with bookings coming in as many as 3 years in advance. The 10 day event is a celebration of all things Rodeo, Festival, and Western Fun. Between the exciting midway, aromatic food offerings, incredible music performances, and the thrilling rodeo and chuckwagon competitions, there is no end to the new things to experience at the Calgary Stampede.
Mountain View Camping offers round-trip shuttle bus service from our RV park to the Stampede admission gates for $12 per person. The shuttle runs to and from the grounds twice per day, scheduled around park opening and rodeo and show times, so you won’t miss any of the action. It is a 25 minute drive from the RV park to the Stampede Grounds. On July 8th there is a special PARADE ROUTE bus at 7:00 am, that returns at noon. The shuttle bus can be a great alternative to parking (rates range from $15-$50 per day), taking a taxi ($50-$60 each way), or riding public transit (a short 10 minute drive from the RV park to the local train station, then $3.75 per person each way to take the train to the Stampede Grounds – just follow all of the cowboy hats), which are all viable options for our guests as well.
We celebrate Stampede-style July 9th to July 17th with a $5 pancake breakfast from 8-10 am, and a menu full of western staples for dinner each night (price varies from $6 to $15 per plate). The dinner menu is finalized in June, so stay tuned to the blog and to our Facebook page (found here) for detailed updates on our menu! We also enjoy fun and games with bean bag and ring toss competitions, a mini-golf tournament, and even karaoke. All event times and dates will also be finalized closer to the event.
